Weekend rendevous on Viasat 1

This weekend, Viasat 1 serves some of the best blockbuster movies from Hollywood. Award winning actor Vin Diesel plays convict Richard B. Riddick who escapes from a desert planet with his two companions, religious man Imam and runaway teenage girl Jack in The Chronicles of Riddick.

After five years wandering across the outskirts of the galaxy and being hunted by bounty hunters, Riddick arrives on the colonized planet New Mecca, where he learns Imam placed the bounty on his head and Jack has been imprisoned on the prison planet “Crematoria” for murder. When New Mecca is attacked, Riddick is captured by cocky bounty hunter Toombs and his crew and he is transported to Crematoria, where he reunites with Jack now named ‘Kyra’. Riddick and Kyra escape to the planet’s sun ravaged surface, where Riddick helped by Necromonger warrior Vakko and his sexy wife Dame Vakko, sets out to save the universe from the Lord Marshal’s rule and save the rest of humanity from being converted into Nercromonger warriors.

The Chronicles of Riddick shows on Friday 27th August 2010 @ 10pm, only on Viasat 1!

And then on Saturday 28th August 2010 @ 9pm Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta- Jones and Stanley Tucci star in The Terminal. Where Viktor Navorski, played by Tom Hanks, a man from an Eastern European country arrives in New York. However after he left his country war broke out. Suddenly Navorski is a man without a country – or one that the U.S. cannot recognize, thus he is denied entrance to the U.S. But, he also can’t be deported so he is told by the Security Manager that he has to remain in the airport until his status can be fixed. In addition Navorski doesn’t speak English very well, so he cannot talk to or understand anyone. But he somehow adapts and sets up residence in the airport, which makes the man who placed him there unhappy, as it seems he is in line for a promotion but Navorski’s presence might complicate that. So he tries to get Navorski to leave but Navorski remains where he is. Navorski makes friends with some of the people who work in the airport and is attracted to a flight attendant he runs into whenever she comes in. Catch this comic-drama @ 9pm on Saturday 28th August 2010, only on Viasat 1.
