We need a load-shedding timetable - Dumelo

Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo

Ghanaian actor cum politician John Dumelo has called on the government and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to release a timetable with regard to the recent power outages.

He asserted that publishing a load-shedding timetable will enable individuals and businesses to plan how to do their duties instead of the unannounced power cuts.

"We need a load-shedding timetable," the actor wrote on his X page, as sighted by GhanaWeb.

Dumelo has added his voice to many Ghanaians, including prominent personalities and celebrities, who have expressed their displeasure with how the lights go off without notice.

In recent times, numerous complaints have been made by people, including stalwarts of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), about the unstable nature of the power supply in some areas.

Meanwhile, during the State of the Nation's Address (SONA) on February 27, 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated that his administration deserves to be applauded after having avoided 'Dumsor' (power outage) for seven years since he assumed office.

His remark was met with vehement criticism by some members of the public who share an opposing view.

The ECG has yet to release a load-shedding timetable amid the public outcry.
