"Water Proof" is dead

A renowned Ghanaian comedian, John Grahl, popularly known as “Water Proof” is reportedly dead.

The actor and comedian’s sudden death according occurred in the early hours of yesterday, Tuesday December 15 2009.

A close relative of Water Proof by name Awura Abena, who said she is the late comedians' step daughter, confirmed her step father’s death to Peacefmonline.

According to Awura Abena, Water Proof was taken ill yesterday morning and was sent to the Mampong Hospital where he met his untimely death at exactly 10am.

“He was very strong throughout the morning. There was nothing wrong with him. He started complaining he was sick and that he should be taken to the hospital. He was sent to the hospital and was pronounced dead. So as at now we don’t even know what killed him,” Awura Abena narrated.

She explained that, this is the only information she can give for now, because the family is yet to receive the doctor’s report which will determine what led to her step father's death.

"Water Proof" was a celebrated comedian, actor and musician who made several appearances on comedy platforms including the popular concert party show. He also went into radio in the late 90’s for sometime as a presenter on then Osu-based Groove FM, and lead actor of an Akan Radio comedy drama show called “Bam Bam Show”.

His last public appearance before his sad demise was on the “Sunday Concert Show” at the GloryLand Hotel a few weeks ago.
