Vodafone commends Wiyaala

Telecommunication provider Vodafone Ghana has commended singer Wiyaala for picking up two awards at the just ended All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held in Nigeria.

Wiyaala won the ‘The Most Promising Artiste in Africa’ and ‘The Revelation of the African Continent’ awards at the event.

The 2012 Vodafone Icons music reality show winner made a courtesy call on Vodafone at its head office on Friday.

The Marketing Director for Vodafone Ghana, Agnes Emefa- Essah, stated that Wiyaala’s hard work and performance on the African continent give the organisation more determination to continue to make inroads and empower young musical talents in the country.

“As a company, we are delighted to be at the forefront of music in the country. Wiyaala’s exploits on the African continent gives us more determination to continue to make further inroads and empower young musical talent in the country. This is what we want as a company; to be a driver in the realisation of dreams and aspirations for the youth of this country,” she said. However, Wiyaala disclosed that she was optimistic that her success would inspire the youth in Ghana to strive for greatness.

“I am grateful for being recognised yet again. I am optimistic that my success as a young woman will inspire many youth in my community and the entire country to strive for greatness,” she said.

Since winning the Vodafone Icons reality, Wiyaala, who hails from the Upper East Region, has captured a string of awards and endorsement deals including Face of Pepsi Ghana, Converse All Stars Brand Ambassador for Ghana and the Youth Achievers Award of the Upper West among others.
