Viasat 1 to lose key management member?

Rumor has it that Viasat1 is about to lose one of its top management members. Word is that the channel’s Marketing Manager, Mr. Kwabena Opoku-Boakye who has been with the company since the beginning has been offered a Marketing Communications role in one of the country’s telecommunications companies.

Before his appointment with the Swedish company, Mr. K. Opoku-Boakye was the Marketing Manager (Lagers and Ready-to-Drink) at Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd for about 10 years and conversations with close associates always betrayed his desire to go back into the brewery industry or do something else.

When he moved to Viasat1 about 3 yrs ago, many marketing practitioners questioned the wisdom in that move for such a high profile marketer and it is therefore not a surprise that he’s decided to take a bow at this time.

The unconfirmed information is that he begins his new appointment in October next month.
