Recently, rumours have been circulating on social media, claiming that veteran Ghanaian actor George Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Paa George, had passed away.

The claims quickly gained traction, with some netizens sharing condolence messages and wishing him rest in peace.

However, the actor has firmly spoken against the rumours, making it clear that he is very much alive.

In a phone conversation with Deprincegh, Paa George even made light of the situation.

“Haven’t you seen what’s circulating online? People are saying I’m dead. Hasn’t it shown up on your end yet? Some are even going as far as wishing me rest in peace,” Paa George told the blogger.

Paa George, born on May 10, 1937, is one of Ghana’s longest-serving screen personalities.

He began his acting career in 1963 and became widely known through the popular 'Concert Party', where he performed alongside notable names such as Agya Ntow, Bob Vans, Lord Bob Cole, and Appiah Agyekum.

He was also a member of the Ebibiman drama group, further cementing his place in Ghana’s theatre scene.

In the 2000s, he gained renewed mainstream prominence in the Ghanaian movie industry, starring in numerous films alongside actors such as Agya Koo, Mercy Asiedu, Nana Ama McBrown, Kyeiwaa, Michael Afranie, and Bill Asamoah.
