Veteran McJordan Amartey wants new prosthetic leg to act again

Veteran actor McJordan Amartey says he would have been still on the screens doing what he loves most but for his leg.

Popularly known as Sugar Daddy in his hay days of acting, McJordan Amartey lost his right leg to diabetes in 2012.

A memory he wants to remain in the past, he said not even his cry to government got him help. “There was nothing,” he told TV3’s ‘entertainment prefect’ Owusu Worae at his residence in Banana Inn, Accra.

The 81-year-old said his passion for acting is still alive “provided I am made to sit”.

He has used his current prosthetic leg for five years and he needs a replacement.

“Sometimes, I watch something and I wish I were the one playing it. But for my leg, I could have continued to be acting. Because God has given me this life and He hasn’t taken it.”
