US Collegiate Singers to perform at the National Theatre

The Collegiate Singers choir from Brigham Young University-Idaho in the United States will on Friday perform at a choral concert at the National Arts Theater in Accra.

The concert dubbed: “Together We Rise in Praise of Faith, Country and Brotherhood” will also feature the Winneba Youth Choir and the Harmonious chorale of Ghana.

Mrs Susan Warner Public Affairs Director of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ghana, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the concert was to fight the course of lifting the children of God.

She said the programme was created to bridge cultures and to connect the hearts of the people unto God.

Mrs Warner said the Winneba Youth Choir was selected based on its contribution to the education and development of young people in Winneba and the surrounding towns.

“The Winneba Youth Choir projects a positive image of African music and African youth,” he said.

The Winneba Youth Choir was founded in 1989 with Mr John Francis Arthur-Yomoah as its Director.

She added that the Harmonious Chorale had over the years promoted religious composers from Ghana and other African countries, ministering to the world through their inspiring repertoire, and witness of Christ.

The chorale founded in 2007, has 50 members and is chaired by Rev. Dr. Joyce Rosalind Ayree of the Salt and Light Ministries and directed by Mr James Varrick Armah.

Brigham Young University- Idaho is one of 3 schools of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the United States of America.

The school provides moral and religious education courses to its students.
