Trader fined for smearing faeces on co-tenant's belongings

Kumasi, May 14, GNA - A circuit court in Kumasi on Friday imposed a fine of GH¢240.00 on a 27-year old trader, who smeared personal belongi= ngs of a co-tenant with human excreta. Vera Frema Frimpong, was also ordered to pay GH¢362.00 as compensation= to the victim, Afia Animah.

Frimpong, who pleaded guilty, would serve six months in prison in default. Chief Inspector F.K Banso told the court, presided over by Mr Justic= e D.W P. Amedior that the convict and Animah live in the same house at Gyinyase in Kumasi. The Prosecution said that on February 27, this year, at about 0900 hours= , while Animah was sweeping the backyard of the house, a neighbour informed=

her that Frimpong had entered her room with a chamber pot.

Chief Inspector Banso said that when Animah rushed to the room, she realised that the convict had smeared her bed sheet, mattress, pillow cas= es, curtains and carpet with faeces. Frimpong in her caution statement to the Police admitted the offence=

and said it was a pay back, claiming that Aminah had earlier daubed her s= on with faeces.
