The once vibrant and entertaining business hub, Ghana Trade Fair Company is on the verge of bouncing back to its glorious days.

Very soon the location would be renovated to an international ground, housing technological entities including, telecommunication companies, exhibition center, entertainment or an amusement center and trade oriented organisations.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, Dr. Agnes Adu, told Ghanaians during an interview on the “3boboba” morning show on Homebase TV.

She said plans are far advanced in making sure the company bounces back to its old glorious days.

Dr. Adu said in three to five years time the facility should be seen working in a new and renovated way employing more Ghanaians to ease the unemployment menace in the country.

She continued that engineers have been engaged to do feasibility studies for the upgrading and renovation of the area.

Dr. Agnes Adu said the facility depleted due to the bad culture of maintenance of Ghanaians, adding that the first President of the Republic, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah did well by establishing the facility.

She said eviction notices have been circulated to occupants of the facility for the renovation work to begin to make sure the known trade fair bounces back.

She narrated how the facility was neglected by the erstwhile administration, depleting the facility to some extent but added that private partners have been engaged to bounce back the Ghana Trade Fair Company.

The Ghana International Trade Fair project was conceived by the government of Ghana in the 1960s. The objective was to build a first class multi-purpose international trade fair and conference center.

This was in direct response to the massive industrialization and infrastructural development projects embarked by the government after the attainment of independence in 1957.

The project was therefore to enable Ghana to showcase and promote her exportable products and services with a view of attracting investors.
