Thief presses his luck too hard and ends up in jail

Aflao, May 19, GNA - Sylvanus Sedzro, 47 year-old, farmer was not lucky a third time as he was arrested with a stolen fowl from a compound where he had previously stolen a fowl and a goat without a trace.

He pleaded guilty to stealing and was sentenced to one year in prison in hard by the Aflao Circuit Court, presided by Mr Francis Obiri.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Wuni told the Court that between 0100 hours and 0300 hours on April 9, this year, Sedzro who lived at Avoeme, a suburb of Aflao, went to Agblekpui near Aflao, where he stole a goat and a fowl from a pen belonging to Togbe Fiti Amenya V, Paramount Chief of Aflao. Mr Wuni said Sedzro tethered the goat and the fowl to a mango tree and returned to steal one fowl more but was spotted by the caretaker, who with the help of another person, arrested him, having failed in his bid to deter his pursuers by throwing stones at them.
