Theatre Mirrors mark 28

One of the oldest theatre groups in the country, Theatre Mirror marked its 28th anniversary ceremony yesterday, 26th April at their Citizen's Centre residence.

The theatre which was born on the 26th of April, 1986 "has passed through interesting challenges", Rtd. Capt. Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey; President and Founder of the group has narrated.

There have been generations that have passed through the group until present But for the group to still stand till 28 years is merriment. Mr. Nkrabeah stated that the group currently has 23 members of which he classifies under various ranks due to his military experience.

The ranks show the membership or commitment level. They include; New members, Shadows(on and off members), Junior Members, Standard Members, Senior Members, Principal Members, Mirrors, Theatre Stars(performed over 50 plays), Executive Members and Directors.

"If you do your home work well, you'd make money out of the stage" the founder advised. He also revealed his intentions of re-drawing up a new curriculum with collaborations with comedian Father Itoski, Potters Drama Group and Noble Dancers.

The whole program was climaxed with a daring performance by Theatre Mirrors They performed a play called Caligula; written by Albert Camus 1939. This play touched on the ancient Roman Empire ruled by Caligula, famous for cruelty and demagogy. "Caligula defies himself as a god and tearing Rome apart" - Major Cassius.

Theatre Mirrors invites everyone to come watch its new play "THE AUCTION" on 10th May, 2014.
