An outspoken Film Producer Daniel Kwadwo Sarfo Tyson has thrown verbal punches on local television stations that air foreign soap operas.

According to him, the recent influx of foreign content-movies and soap operas on our local television stations, will cause a certain tragedy if not attended to.

Speaking on Nhyira Fm Entertainment Power last Saturday, the ‘Boyz Abre’’ producer admitted that currently Ghana is losing her identity as a result of the rise of Mexican and Spanish telenovelas being shown on our TV screens.

According to Sarfo what is being aired on TV now is a form of penetration of foreign culture which is gradually taking over the Ghanaian culture “and as a nation, when you lose your culture then it means you have lost your identity and it is very risky.”

“It is just unfortunate that we have come to this point where we are seeing the decline in local production and it is very risky’’

The furious Film Producer described the story lines of some of the telenovelas as full of inanity most especially the ‘’Kumkum Bhagya’’.

"The good side of these telenovelas is their costumes and locations apart from that their story lines are nonsensical". He added

He accused the classification and preview board of being inactive in enforcing the state laws.
