The Return Of Kofi B

YOUNG AND enterprising highlife musician, Kofi B, who appeared on the music scene a decade ago, has undoubtedly released a considerable number of hit songs onto the Ghanaian music market.

Apparently, Kofi B is among the few Ghanaian musicians who are working tirelessly to make Ghana’s music industry grow, and believe it or not, he has grown to become a reliable musician, consequently gaining prominence over some other existing musicians.

The highlife musician’s gigs have also earned him another accolade as one of the most thrilling artistes.

With a silky voice and talent which he describes as a special gift from God, Kofi B is set to rock Ghana and the world again with his yet-to-be released album.

Almost everyone who has had the opportunity to listen to the songs on Kofi B’s latest album think his latest album is exceptionally appealing because the messages in the songs can be related to our everyday lives.

The artiste, who has finished working on his latest album, said he would release it in October this year, and promised to run things in a different dimension this time around.

In a chat with BEATWAVES, Kofi B’s manager, Kwame Mickey, CEO of Kaakyire Music Productions, explained that “Ghanaians love highlife music and that is what directs Kofi’s creative energies. Highlife music is all about what the public or music lovers want and this motivated Kofi to come out with his latest album.”

The album, he said, has a total of 12 tracks on the CD and eight on the cassette, including the currently reigning tracks ‘Enkoka Nbeka Me’, Daddy, ‘Brenya’, among other interesting tracks.

The lyrics of the album, which are inspiring, are arranged with sensational rhythms, with a fusion of drum beats, base and guitar rhythms felt in the background, making the album a unique one.

Kofi B, still conscious of his cultural background, maintains his Ghanaian identity in all his productions by singing in Twi. His African identity is vividly portrayed in the lyrics of his songs, as well as his videos.

He told BEATWAVES that his album was ready and that his fans should get ready for yet another inspiring creative work, saying “it is a promise I will keep, expect another great piece of musical work in October this year.”

His contribution to the music industry in Ghana would undoubtedly add to the rich repertoire of musical works that the country already has.

Having sung for several years, Kofi has a voice that appeals to all music lovers, not to talk of his lyrics which are really inspirational.

Some of his popular songs include ‘Twa Me Keke’, ‘Mmobrowa’, ‘Aserewa’, ‘Koforidua Flower’s, ‘Sika Dwa’, ‘Belinda’, ‘Akua Ataa’, ‘Yaw Dompreh’, among others.
