The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards On Dstv

Keeping up with the best shows in the world in Ferbuary M-NET East and West, will be showing the 52 ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS at 19:00 and 21:30 CAT respectively Oon 1st Februrary. DStv audiences are invited not to miss out on the prestigious event as the best of 2010 are showcased from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

A total of 109 awards will be awarded at the event and Neil Young will be one of the recipients when he is honored as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year.

Beyonce leads the list of nominees this year, with ten nominations. Other leading nominees for this year’s event include Taylor Swift with eight, Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West with six and David Guetta, Jay Z as well as Lady Gaga with five nominations apiece. Colbie Caillat, Kings of Leon, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain and Keith Urban all received four nominations; it was definitely a big year for music last year!

Some of the performers that have been confirmed for this year’s even include Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Greenday, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Pink, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band.

Michael Jackson is top of the tribute part of the show. The Recording Academy will honor him with a tribute during the Grammy’s. It will feature a 3D mini movie that was designed for his This is IT Tour of his hit Earth Song. This piece has never been seen before. The artists that will perform alongside the movie are Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher.

The all-star presenters for this year’s awards include Kristen Bell, Justin Bieber, Jeff Bridges, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Josh Duhamel, Norah Jones, Ke$ha, LL Cool J, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and Ringo Starr.
