Technology has made producers lazy – Morris BabyFace

Ace sound engineer and producer, Morris D’Voice Lovit formerly known as Morris BabyFace has observed that most of the current crop of music producers have become lazy as a result of technology.

Sharing his thoughts on what he considers as the huge difference between hiplife back in the day and now, Morris who was introduced into sound engineering by a German said music producers nowadays do not learn because technology has made everything easier.

He believes producers are content with software instead of learning how to play live instruments for quality output.

“The real difference is, technology has actually made things easier these days and it’s making most of these producers lazy. Anybody can just sit behind a laptop and produce with the fruity loops. It’s all hip-hop. The real thing is not being done. People can come to me and learn because they can’t play. Technology has made a lot of people lazier. They don’t learn,” he said on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with KMJ, Thursday.

Morris renounced secular music some years ago to live a life for Christ.

Until finding comfort in Christendom, Morris worked with some top hiplife artistes and produced a lot of hit songs including Okomfour Kwaadee’s ‘Abrantie’, Obomofour’s ‘Damabi’, D Lawal’s ‘Obaasima’, Lord Kenya’s ‘Champion’, Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Odo Nkyen’, Bradez’s ‘Odo Fever’ and Dunsini’s ‘Adieyie’.
