TRENDING VIDEO: Lady 'fakes' madness to avoid paying taxi fare in Accra

YEN.com.gh has sighted a video of a taxi attempting to flog a seemingly mentally retarded passenger for failing to pay her taxi fare.

In the video which is fast going viral, the taxi driver is seen with a cane standing by the woman who was gesticulating like a mad person. This was after those around had pleaded with the driver to have mercy on the woman.

Narrating what happened, the taxi driver who identified himself as Attah from Tabora, a suburb of Accra, stated that the woman asked him to bring her to Hitz FM, located at Kokomlemle.

Upon reaching her destination, the woman told him to wait for her to collect money from someone for the fare. After waiting for sometime without seeing the lady emerging with his money, Attah said he followed up to check what was happening.

It was then that Attah found the woman acting weird and talking gibberish like a mad person. Sensing that he had been made to work in vain, Attah took out a cane from his car in a bid teach the woman a lesson. But for the intervention of some people around, the situation might have escalated and different story would have been told now.



According to Attah, the woman had not showed any signs of madness when he picked her and she did not even talk on their way.

He thus suspected the woman was faking the madness hence his decision to show her that he was equally mad.

Attah cautioned cab drivers to pay attention and screen passengers both directly and indirectly should they ask for their services.

It is not yet known if the woman was actually mad or was faking her condition as the driver suggested.
