TMA Supports TTC's Homowo

Tema, Aug. 13, GNA - Mr Kempes Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has on behalf of the Assembly, presented GHC 1,000 and assorted drinks, towards this year's Homowo Festival of the chiefs and people of the Tema Traditional Council (TTC).

Making the donation at Tema New Town on Friday, Mr Ofosuware said it was part of the Assembly's support for the Traditional Council towards the celebration of the festival.

He said as the custodian of the land, the Traditional Council deserved support from the Assembly, and for that reason, the celebration of the Homowo Festival would be incomplete without support from the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).

The MCE stated that the Metropolis has two main traditional areas, namely, Tema and Kpone, and that the gesture would be extended to the chiefs and people of Kpone at a later date.

He emphasized that his administration would co-operate with TTC to ensure the rapid development of the Metropolis.

Nii Adjei Kraku, the Second, Tema Mantse, on behalf of the traditional council expressed their gratitude to TMA for the kind gesture.

The MCE was accompanied by Mr Asare Bediako, Acting Co-ordinating Director, and Mr Kingsley Kwame Appiah, Presiding Member of the Assembly.
