Super Story Actor Calls For More Ghana-Nigeria Collabration

Just as Ghanaian movie stars cannot do away with collaborating with their Nigerian counterparts, many Nigerian movie stars cannot also end their career without leaving a mark in the Ghanaian movie industry.

In an interview with one of the popular Nigerian movie stars anyamele sam uche who has featured in over 50 movies in Nigeria, he revealed to Flex newspaper that he has featured in movies like who is my father, power of love, deadly emotion etc but knows he is really recognized by Ghanaians in Super story.

He continued that he started his movie career in Assemblies of God in Nigeria where he used to feature in the church`s drama activities. It was until in 1998 when he starred in his first TV series.

“Although I have featured in lots of movies in Nigeria, I will say that the roles I played in super story brought me to the lime light in Africa because super story became an African program which was shown everywhere in Africa” he recounted.

For him, before he goes in for a script he does not look at the monetary aspect but rather looks at the massage that the movie is bringing out to the public. I have to understand the content of the movie, the character he is going to play and the character others are going to play before he accepts to feature in the movie.

As to why he has not returned to Nigeria since he came for the AMAA awards, he said it has always been his wish to be a local champion in Nigerian because he believes when he does a good work people will recognize him outside. “I will say this is my first time in Ghana and I was invited by AMAA because I won the best promising actor in 2006. So when I got here, although I did not come to act I was given a script which I thought was good and okay”.

When Flex asked him if he has any particular movie star in Ghana he would like to act with, he revealed that the ones he enjoys watching are those who are now off the screen but he has really enjoyed his first time on set with Movie Africa and he is really surprised with the talent at hand.

Talking about collaboration, he said that he does not agree with the movie makers in Ghana who always complain that Ghana Nigerian collaboration is not helping because if it`s not helping, he will not even come to Ghana to get a job which will give him recognition in Ghana. “The same thing applies to the Ghanaian movie stars. They come to Nigeria and they get the big roles which gives them recognition, so if they say it`s not helping them, I don’t really understand” he lamented.

Super story is a real life story feature which shows on many Television stations in the country. It talks about the lifestyles of the African culture and the intricacies in the world.
