Supa (Ghana 2Pac) mentions my name for hype – Gariba

Gariba Gariba

For the past few weeks, a new sensation, Supa (Ghana 2Pac) has taken social media by storm.

It all started with a viral freestyle by the Nima-based rapper which was retweeted by award-winning rapper Sarkodie. The catchiest part of his videos is his last words “F**k Gariba”.

Gariba, who is also a Nima-based rapper styling himself as the king of the streets of Nima, has reacted to what he describes as the disrespectful comments by Supa.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the rapper, who did not seem perturbed by the development, noted that Supa only mentions his name for hype.

According to him, because he is a very important person in Nima, people relate more to whatever his name is attached to.

“…When he raps and mentions my name, people like it because I am popular in all those areas. He mentions my name for hype but when he raps and does not mention my name, he does not trend…,” Gariba said.

Reacting to rumours that he was not happy with Supa’s progress, Gariba said he is rather happy for him.

“…I can never be jealous of Supa. I am like a playwright watching his play in the theatre. When I see Supa behave like me, I feel proud because I used to be on the streets like him trying to survive. I wish him good luck and all the best in life…,” he added.

One unique feature of Supa are his missing teeth. That draws a lot of attention to him. His funky style of rapping, which mostly ends with a weird style of walking, has become the new wave.

He is currently the initiator of the Supa challenge. The likes of Sarkodie, Samini and Funny Face have waded into the fray and are mimicking this hilarious challenge on social media.
