Renowned movie producer, Martin Aboagye has taken a massive swipe at veteran music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei also known in showbiz as Hammer for engaging in non-ethical practices which could put the lives of innocent people in danger.

Hammer over the past few weeks was spotted selling bread on the streets in order to promote his bread making business which created a huge backlash in the showbiz circles.

In an interview on Zylofon FM, Mr Aboagye indicated that celebrities who have a lot of influence are not leading up to the task to ensure they gauge their followers to achieve the best in their lives.

The movie producer further indicated that for Hammer, Bandex and Co. to stand on the street to sell bread is in a way giving credence to the fact that street hawking is appropriate.

He said as celebrities, we have followers and people are looking up to us so for them to be doing that, we are encouraging all those people to engage in such precarious occupation.

Mr Aboagye recalled countless experiences of hawkers been killed either by motorbikes or trucks in street vending practices.

He said: “Of course, in our part of the world, we need to survive but we don’t need to survive at the perils of our lives.”

Mr Aboagye reiterated that he is not against celebrities and influencing people engaging in business but we have to ensure that whatever we are doing does not add more woes to our problems.
