Spoken word artiste and two others win GHS 9000 to fulfill dreams.

Three young Ghanaians with dreams took to social media to win GHS 3000 each in the Vodafone #DoMoreGh campaign.

People shared their aspirations and dreams on Vodafone’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages where 5 were shortlisted and 3 voted for as winners.

Mutombo Da Poet aka Percy Osei-Appiah, a spoken word artiste known for his debut album Photosentences, was one of the winners who tweeted about his new song, #Socially You, written to draw the minds of people to the effects of social media on interpersonal communication with family and friends.

He received his cheque in excitement at a party organized for the winners at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he said he wanted to reach out to people about how social media use takes over human interaction and with Vodafone’s support, he can shoot a video to broadcast his message.

Ricky Ansong, also a winner, posted on Facebook that he had written a book about children in James Town, Accra and needed support to publish so he could distribute to the children. He said he was very happy to have won the prize money and can now publish as many as 300 books for the children.

The ultimate winner, Lorna Tetteh, also through Facebook caught Vodafone’s attention to financially support her orphanage, “Give them hope”, which she runs with a group of friends.

The campaign was to empower young Ghanaians on social media platforms to achieve more with their lives.

The Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile presented the cheques to the winners and congratulated them for nurturing great aspirations which will impact positively on society.

Performances by T Phlow, Joey B, Ryan-Winner of Vodafone Icons and Stonebwoi retained the audience, mainly students from the University of Ghana.
