Social media users gang up against Serwaa Amihere after ‘late’ sexual harassment claims against Kofi Kapito

Radio Presenter and current Newscaster of the Year at the just ended 9th Edition of the DOPHIL Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards has come under a barrage of attacks, after she tweeted about an alleged sexual harassment on her, by Kofi Kapito.

Mr Kofi Kapito, who was to give an award to Serwaa Amihere, made a comment about how nice her backside was.

“Serwaa Amihere, look at your butt, nice!” he said.

This didn’t go down well with the newscaster. Serwaa called the comments by Kofi Kapito a classic case of sexual harassment and tweeted:

“I had so much respect for Mr. Kofi Kapito. This is a classic case of sexual harassment. I’m appalled by his utterances. This was needless and completely disrespectful!”

This didn’t go down well with the newscaster. Serwaa called the comments by Kofi Kapito a classic case of sexual harassment and tweeted: “I had so much respect for Mr. Kofi Kapito. This is a classic case of sexual harassment. I’m appalled by his utterances. This was needless and completely disrespectful!”

Some social media users will however have none of this, rather than empathise with her, they wondered why she took so long in responding and only tweeted after someone else had tweeted about it.

For example @Kwadwo_Afful asked why she didn’t call Kofi Kapito out on the same platform on which he disrespected her but rather coming to twitter to ‘make noise’

He tweeted “masa masa he said that before you went on stage for ur award so why didn't u also used that same opportunity he got on the stage to say that thing to also tell him ur mind when u got on the stage rather than to be making noise here? Kcda kraa”

Amoako Eric sarcastically asked her to go to Legon and report, “Just go to Legon... And report”

Derrick tweeting @_dek9 tweeted: “Lmaooo I'm not even understanding.. You were in the same building with the person. You could've even shown your displeasure immediately. But naaa.. Let's come and trend on Twitter”
