Ingredients
Dried hibiscus flowers
Pineapple peels (or any fruit of choice )
Ginger
Cloves
Grain of selim
Negro pepper
Red chilies
Sugar or honey
Cinamon (optional)
Instructions
1. Rinse the dried hibiscus flowers with other ingredients (pineapple peel, ginger, cloves, grain of selim, negro pepper, red chillies and cinamon)and place them in a large pot.
2. Add the water to the pot and bring to a boil on medium heat.
3. Allow it simmer for 40 minutes to an hour, or until the mixture has turned a deep red color.
4. Allow mixture to cool and strain into a large pitcher or jug.
5. Add sugar or honey to taste, if desired.
6. Chill the sobolo in the refrigerator before serving.
7. You can add flavorings like mint, pineapple juice, mango juice or any flavouring of choice.
Sobolo is a refreshing drink that can be accompanied with snacks like pies or biscuits and can be served a starter.
