Six Miss Boat To Miss Malaika Final

With a few days to go for the Ghana event of the Miss Malaika Pan -African beauty pageant, 10 out of the 16 semi-finalists have been chosen to vie for the coveted title.

The final 10 selected after endearing themselves to a nationwide audience, who voted for them in a reality TV series, are now back in camp at the Malaika Mansion at the plush Trassaco Valley estate. They are undergoing final preparation for the show that promises to be a night of glitz and glamour.

The event, slated for the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, October 4, will feature the best artistes from Ghana, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire. The final 10 include Anita Quarshie, Edna Woadzro, Thelma Tawiah, Birgita Nortey, Gwenyth Gyimah, Gifty Dadson, Yaa Asaa Addo-Obiri, Nana Akua Addo, Carmilla Awuah and Dela-Amanda Gadzekpo.

During this second camping, the delegates will finish their grooming and choreography sessions and hold a talent night as well as a karaoke gala as part of activities to unearth their inner flair and abilities as African women. All of these will continue to show on the TV series.

For the first time in the history of pageants in Ghana, patrons of Miss Malaika who rightly predict the ultimate winner will be rewarded. By texting their favourite contestants to Spacefon they will have the opportunity to enter into a draw that could give them the chance to accompany the winner to the international event in South Africa, come November 20.

Apart from receiving ?20 million cash, Ghana's Miss Malaika will have a Kia Sephia salon car as her official vehicle. She will also be covered by a comprehensive insurance provided by the Phoenix Insurance Company. She will, in addition, receive a Sony Vega entertainment system. The winner will also work with the Ghana AIDS Commission as an AIDS ambassador for one year.

The event is produced by the Charter House Productions Limited and sponsored by the Ghana AIDS Commission, Aunty Lizzy Wig Collection, Rana Motors, Sony Centre, Phoenix Insurance, Trassaco Valley, Volta Hotel and the FC Cosmetics & Beauty Clinic. Other sponsors are GTP, Billboard Communications, Pace Car Rentals and the South Africa Airways.
