Popular Ghanaian media personality Andy Dosty has opened up about how Shatta Wale confidently predicted his rise to the top of Ghana’s music industry long before fame found him.
In a resurfaced episode of his show, Andy Dosty recounted that an international entertainment figure affiliated with BET had once shown interest in signing Shatta Wale, who was then known as Bandana, alongside another artiste.
However, negotiations reportedly fell apart after disagreements came up between the parties.
According to Andy, the woman involved later complained to him about Shatta Wale’s reaction during the discussions.

He said fate later brought the two together unexpectedly in Accra, where he decided to confront the artiste over the incident.
Andy Dosty revealed that Shatta Wale became furious during the conversation and warned him never to call or text him again.
“He told me the next time I hear about him, he would be the biggest artiste in Ghana,” Andy recounted.
The radio personality said what happened next surprised him even more. Moments after storming off, Shatta Wale reportedly returned and asked when he would be travelling back to Kumasi, where Andy was living at the time.
After learning that Andy would be leaving the next day, the dancehall musician asked him to wait.
Andy said Shatta later returned with a bundle of CDs and pleaded with him to distribute them in Kumasi.
Andy disclosed that the CDs had initially been distributed to pubs along the beachside in Accra, but Shatta Wale personally went back to retrieve them so they could instead be circulated in Kumasi.
He noted that Shatta Wale was heavily involved in promoting and distributing his own music at the time, a level of hustle that was uncommon among many artistes then.
“He returned with a lot of CDs, I asked him what were they for and he said he had come to the beach to distribute his new project, and he had no gone to collect all of them back; just as you did before, do this one too for your son,” Andy Dosty recounted
Reflecting on the story and Shatta Wale’s current success, Andy Dosty said he believes the musician “manifested” his rise through confidence, determination and relentless hard work.
“ Shatta Wale told a woman who wanted to sign him that she should never call him again and the next time she hears from him then he is the Biggest Artiste in Ghana”
