See the tweet from Nana Aba Anamoah which ended the Ghana, Nigeria ‘war’ on social media

Host of GHOne TV’s State of Affairs fired the last shot which appears to have won Ghana the battle with Nigerians on Twitter.

The feud which has been in existence for a while now over which country cooks better Jollof was recently rekindled after American pop star, Cardi B visited both countries as part of her West Africa Tour.

The award-winning rapper cum stripper performed at the Livespot X Festival at the Eko Atlantic City in Nigeria before proceeding to her next destination, Ghana. While in Nigeria though, Cardi B met with a host of celebrities and turned up at a strip club for a night out session.

In Ghana though, the story was quite different as the headlines many expected from Cardi B’s visit to the first country in sub saharan Africa to gain independence turned out to be something else.

The fiasco stemmed from a supposed “meet and greet” session which had been planned by organisers on the blind side of the American rapper, an instagram post by Cardi B in response to why she “snubbed” Ghanaian celebrities who had waited for almost nine (9) hours for the event explained.

The situation got a number of these Ghanaian celebrities upset, with some taking over social media to express their frustration. Following the development, many, particularly in Nigeria began to troll these celebrities and the country as a whole for such an embarrassing situation.

The #GhanavrsNaija trend, which garnered over 41,000 tweets saw people from both countries, Ghana and Nigeria, engage in banters over which of the two countries was better in one thing or the other.

While most of the comparisons and trolls bothered on jollof, good music, currency and the like, some appeared more personal and sought to attack personalities. One of such was a description of Ghana’s President as old and not smart, cool and as fine as Buhari.

“Despite the fact Nigeria president is older than your president, Baba still looks smart, cool, and fine pass your president,” the Nigerian twitter user stated.

But the post did not go down well with television personality Nana Aba Anamoah. She responded saying, “But our President lives in Ghana with us”.

This tweet got over 7,000 likes with many describing it as the single post to end the seeming ‘war’ between the two countries.

According to Nigerian online portal,, President Buhari spent a cumulative number of 404 days outside of Nigeria’s shores visiting 33 countries in the first three years of his first term which means he spent more than a year touring the world in his first term.

A Nigerian, who reacted to Nana Aba’s post said, “I’m Nigerian, but I felt this one.”
