Sarkodie loses out to D’banj for the MTV EMA Race for Africa

It’s the end of the MTV Europe Music Awards race for BET Award winners, Sarkodie and Wizkid, Camp Mulla and Mi Casa as D’banj has been voted and nominated to be Africa’s nominee in the Africa-India-Middle East category for the forthcoming 2012 Worldwide Act for MTV EMA!

D’banj will represent Africa as a Worldwide Act nominee at the 2012 MTV EMA, billed to take place in Frankfurt on November 11, MTV EMA stated whilst announcing his nomination on Monday. “Music fans all over the world have spoken!

You voted around the clock… you told everyone you know to support your favourite artist… and now you’ve chosen a local EMA winner! It’s… D’Banj!” MTV stated on its website to announce D’banj’s nomination alongside others.

From now until 30 October, local winners around the globe such as D’banj will compete for the honour of representing their region in the race for the second ever Worldwide Act. Below is the list of international artists who will compete along with North America’s local nominees to be the regional nominee for the 2012 Worldwide Act EMA!
