Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson most ‘Googled’ male and female celebs

Google has released the results of the most searched Ghanaian celebrities in August 2013. In August, the results revealed that the self proclaimed Azonto king, Sarkodie, was the number one most searched artist in Ghana. Sark beat other entertainers, such as EL, R2bees, John Dumelo and Samini to emerge number one.

It seems Sarkodie is too hot to stop as he has consistently remained the most Googled Ghanaian celebrity since 2010. Now, that is no mean feat.

For the ladies, Yvonne Nelson led as the most searched female celebrity in August beating Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari and Efya.

Yvonne Nelson, one of the most active celebrities on social media, has used the internet to her advantage and has solidified herself as a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry.

Also appearing on Ghana’s top 10 most searched celebrity list are other top stars such as VIP, Efya, Kaakie and Joselyn Dumas.

For those not Googling their favourite celebrities, sports - specifically football-, technology and general search queries on “how to”, were also prominent themes in August.

The top seven trending search terms in Ghana across all themes for the month of August were Facebook, Ghanaweb.com, Goal.com, YouTube, Google, Yahoo Mail and Myjoyonline.com.
