Sammi Misses Out On US$100,000, But Remains Fine

Last week, M-NET, organizes of Big Brother Africa (BBA) held a press conference for the press to interact with Sammi Bampoe, a Ghanaian who was evicted from the Big Brother House.

At the press Conference, Sammi Bampoe told the press that his seventy-two days in the house had helped him realize that "In life you have to put in your best to get the best".

This he attributed to the fact that each day housemate are given a task and are expected to attain hundred percent, so each person is forced to put in his or her best to attain the hundred percent which most times they were able to achieve due to hard work.

He said the first thing that came to his mind after his name was mentioned was that he was going to get to meet his friends, and family again and be able to implement what he had learnt from his fellow housemates. "It's like an extra practical work outside the BBA house."

He said his greatest achievement in the house was being able to go through "boot camping" despite his fracture.

When asked about what some viewers have criticized as the immorality aspect in the BBA house, he said, "I don't see anything wrong with the show, to me BBA is about entertainment."

Answering a question about who he thought would win the US$100,000 prize he said "it's difficult to predict but I believe it would be Mwisho, but I would love Cherise to win."

Talking about some of Mwisho's qualities, he said he is a strong person who would want to get into a fight just to try your patience.

"In fact", he said, "Mwisho has everything its takes to win." Sammi said the difference between Mwisho and Cherise is that Cherise is a woman and very strong, so she stands a better chance.

He told the press that one thing that was precious to the housemates were eggs and drinks. The house was given sixty eggs a week and each housemate was to take three.

He said initially, he was camera conscious but later he got used to it and started being himself. Sammi told the press that his perception of other African countries had not changed.

He said the only difference in the various countries was in terms of food and music. "Apart from that we were all the same", he explained.

He said he had nothing against the housemate that nominated him but "I believe it is a game and they were supposed to vote, it's just unfortunate it was me. I must confess I was shocked at those who nominated me", he confided.

Commenting on some of the housemates, Sammi said Tapuwa is being herself. Besides she is a smart and strong person who would do anything to win the game. He said Stefan is also a very strong person whom he had personally grown to like and intends to keep their friendship because they all have common interests in music.

He said he hoped, as a media person, he would get a contract to work for any radio or television station outside the country in addition to his work in Ghana.

He thanked all Ghanaians for being behind him during and after his stay in the house. Sammi would be in the country for two weeks, after which he would leave to South Africa.

The last housemate would leave the house on the September 7; that person would have won the US$100,000.

While in South Africa Sammi would be expected to join the final BBA party, which will take place on September 7 and he would also await the opportunity that would come his way.
