Samira Bawumia defends her visit to KumKum Bhagya cast

The wife of the Vice President of the Republic, Mrs Samira Bawumia has come under some severe castigation for her visit and photo-taking moments with cast of the popular Indian television series, Kumkum Bhagya, but she has a response – www.entertainmentgh.com can state!

In her response, she wrote on her social media page;

“Meeting with some key members of the Indian Entertainment Industry, exploring possibilities of collaboration to boost the budding movie Industry in Ghana.”

Not only did she justify the infamous visit, she also shared more photographs of her meeting with some production members and cast of the popular series.

The ‘Second Lady’ has faced backlash from a section of the general public, especially from major stakeholders in the Ghanaian film industry, who have called her move – an endorsement of a foreign series that is generating more problems and has faced intense rejection.

Kumkum Bhagya, an Indian TV Series has been showing in Ghana for the past 2 years, and it is undoubtedly, the most popular TV series, whether foreign or local, well-loved by many folks across all regions of the country.

Mrs. Bawumia says, it is a good idea to leverage on the immense popularity of the series and find ways to make our industry benefit via collaborative efforts.
