'Sala' dance not part of Islamic tradition- Islamic cleric

Kumasi, Jan 19, GNA- Mallam Issah Osei, Head of the Muslim Mobile Preachers Association in Kumasi, has stated that the fanfare associated with the annual Eidul-Adha festival, popularly called "sala" dance, is not part of the Islamic traditions.

He has therefore called on Muslim parents to advise their children against such entertainment packages in other not to bring the image of the religion into disrepute.

Preaching to over 500 Muslims at Kejetia in the Kumasi Metropolis Mallam Osei urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect soberly on where they went wrong during last year and repent.

Mallam Ismaila Obeng, General Organiser of the Association, said the Eidul-Adha festival encouraged Muslims to remain faithful to the word of God.
