SOS Concert Rocks Accra

There was fun and excitement at the Osu Presbyterian Hall in Accra last week Friday when SOS Ghana in collaboration with the stewards of Grace Ministry paraded a selection of some of the country?s finest gospel musicians, at a short but impressive ceremony.

The concert, dubbed ?Akyedie Ben 2004? is the first to be organised and based on the performance of this year?s maiden event, subsequent ones would be organised.

The purpose of the concert was to raise some money to support orphans at the Tema and Asiakwa orphanages.

Among the number of performers who added spice to the concert were members of Alabaster Box, Stewards of Grace Choir, SOS Choir and Nii Okai in his popular ?Koda? song.

The hall which was packed to capacity was attended by a hybrid of Ghanaians most of whom sang and danced along with the performers.

Launching the concert, a senior pastor at the Open Heavens Mission, Rev. Gershon Adzraku, noted that the programme was one that needed the support of all Ghanaians.

He said it was biblically mandatory for people to support the less privileged in society. The National Director of SOS Ghana, Mr. Kojo Mattah, noted that his outfit was committed to in stilling in the children the highest level of discipline and high academic achievements.

He said the high maintenance culture of the home makes it one of the best in the childcare business in Ghana.

Mr. Mattah also expressed his outfits? commitment to churning out responsible children to take up responsible positions. The Tema and Asiakwa orphanages have a total of about 232 orphans.
