Ruff ‘N’ Smooth Bonds With Joshua Clottey

Joshua Clottey with Ruff and Smooth AFTER PROJECTING chart busting song ‘Swagger’ onto the international platform when he danced to the tune as he entered the ring recently to fight Manny Pacquiao in Texas, Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey says he has big plans for ‘Swagger boys’ Ruff ‘N’ Smooth.

Mr. Clottey promised to continue using the duo’s songs anytime he enters the ring. According to him, he does not even mind going back into the ring with them like he did with Ronny of Buk Bak fame.

However, he said he will only be pushed to use their music inside the ring if it is good.

He said the duo, currently produced by Bola Ray’s Empire Entertainment, should not relent in their quest to get to the peak of their career.

Mr. Clottey said his reason for choosing ‘Swagger’ is because he fell in love with the song after he first heard it.

“I met the group during one of their shows at the National Theatre and Bola Ray introduced them to me. And I like their songs. In fact, anywhere I am and they play the song, I stop and dance.

So when I was going to fight, I said ok, why not use this song because it is going boost my moral and give me more hope.

So that is why I used it {sic}”, Mr. Clottey said in reaction to BEATWAVES’ question during an encounter with a section of the local media on Thursday at a mini party organized by Ruff ‘N’ Smooth’s management at Empire Entertainment offices to welcome him back home and congratulate him for advertising the song on an international platform.

The duo presented the defeated boxer, who says he will retire from the sport in the next 3 or 4 years, with a hamper and a framed picture.

At the event was the CEO of Empire Entertainment Bola Ray, Nathaniel Attoh of Joy Fm’s sports desk, DJ Mensah and a number of personalities from both showbiz and sports fraternities.
