This year’s edition of Ghana’s biggest high school event Roll Kall, will take place at the Aviation Social Centre on Saturday September 7.
The event is expected to bring together students and immediate past students of thousands of second cycle institutions across the country.
They will take part in competitions in rap and singing, as well dance choreography among other exciting side attractions.
In its third year, Roll Kall remains Ghana’s biggest outdoor programme for second cycle institutions. “This year’s event will witness very huge numbers,” Boakye Nhyira, CEO, Planet One Multimedia, organizers of the event said.
“Roll Kall has grown to become a must-attend event on the school calendar, and we can only put up a good show this year, just as we manage to do in previous editions.”
This year’s event is themed ‘No Yawa’, a campaign by three NGOs including DKT International Ghana, distributors of popular condom brands Fiesta, Kiss and new female contraceptive range Lydia.
“The project seeks to address the high unmet reproductive health needs of Ghana’s youth, via sms alerts, youth friendly clinics, DKT products, a call centre, and much more,” officials have said.
“No Yawa will be the support service where Ghanaian youth will be educated on issues regarding sex, which will then empower them to make informed sex choices.”
Artistes performing at this year’s event include Guru, Shatta Wale (Bandana), Cabum, and Gemini, among others.
Roll Kall is also sponsored by Fiesta Condoms, Kiss Condoms, Lydia Female Contraceptive, and organized in partnership with YFM and Papas Pizza.
