Rita Sam wins finals of 2009 hair styling competition

Takoradi, Sept. 30, GNA - Miss Rita Sam, a hairdresser from Effiakuma, on Tuesday won the finals of 2009 Western Regional Hair Styling competition, dubbed Golden Scissors Award, organised by L'oreal in Takoradi.

L'oreal is a company that manufacturer soft sheen and carson hair and skin products.

She received an air ticket to Accra to participate in the national grand competition next year and a quantity of products from the company valued at 200,000 Ghana Cedis and some professional tools. The first runner up was Miss Jestina Ntsiful and the second runner up was Miss Anastasia Addo.

Mr Sam Adika, a Training Manager of L'oreal, in an interview with the press, said the competition was to encourage hairdressers to be creative and to apply hair products correctly. He said hairdressers should be regularly trained to enable them do their work efficiently.

Mr Adika said Miss Sam won the competition because of her self-control and knowledge of what was expected of her during the one hour competition. 30 Sept. 09
