Retract and apologise to our client – Lawyers of Pastor Amoateng chase websites

Lawyers of Pastor Brian Amoateng have asked Yen.com.gh and Ghanacelebrities.com to render an unqualified apology to their client for publishing ‘defamatory’ articles about him.

Controversial media personality Afia Schwarzenegger Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa had alleged that the marriage between Dr. Kwaku Oteng and Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah widely known as Akua Ghana Most Beautiful had collapsed after the husband discovered the wife had been cheating on him.

The comedienne mentioned that the wife had been having an affair with 'Pastor Amoateng' - making the blogs conclude the said pastor was Brian Amoateng.

The lawyers have in a strong-worded letter said their client has been defamed and demands an apology or will not hesitate to press charges.

“In the said videos, no mention was made of our clients and consequently it is most regrettable for your portal to link the said publication to our clients and further use their pictures without their notice or consent,” a notice sent to the publishers read.

“Our clients further say that in line with ethics of professional journalism you were under obligation to give them an opportunity of being heard if you strongly held the opinion that the statement made by the lady was in reference to them.

“It is our respectful position that your publication was made with the sole of aim of bringing into disrepute, the hard-earned credentials of our clients, to ridicule them in the eyes of right-thinking members of the Ghanaian society and beyond and mischievously reduce their integrity and put their reputation which they have built within their pastoral life into dishonor, contempt, and reproach for their church and family.”
