One of the numerous moments that characterized this year’s S-Concert which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium was the controversial performance by promising Ghanaian Hip-pop artiste Grey.

Grey, was a member of defunct Hiplife/Hip-pop group, Mobile Boys— formed by the Grandpapa of Hiplife Reggie Rockstone.

His music is an artistic reflection of passion, energy and all the socio-economic realities and experiences of life.

As someone whose music talks mainly about social issues, Grey surprised patrons when he took his turn to perform his controversial hit song titled ‘John’.

In our Akan local dialect, the word ‘John’ refers to someone who is not mentally stable or doesn’t do things the right way.

In the song, Grey went hard on both current president Nana Akufo-Addo and Ex-presidents by classifying them as ‘Johns’ for lacking ideas to properly govern the country.

Though Grey’s song may seem to be provocative, he dazzled patrons with his stage antics. As a Rap artiste, Grey justified why he was nurtured by the Grandpapa of Hiplife Reggie Rockstone.

He controlled the tumultuous crowd delectably and his command on the microphone was stupendous.

Most of the patrons Razzonline.com spoke with after Grey’s thunderous performance applauded the organizers EIB Network for billing him on such a big platform.

Other artistes who also performed on the night are Captain Planet, Edem, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
