Rastafarians celebrate Haile Selassie’s coronation in Ghana

Rastafarians worldwide marked the 83rd anniversary of the coronation of HIM Emperor Haile Selassie with performances on Saturday November 2.

At the Fair Gardens Hotel opposite Trade Fair Site, the Twelve Tribes of Israel, Ghana had a celebration where guests were served free food amidst some exciting performances by Culture Levi from London, 2009 VGMA Reggae Award winner Chizzy Wailer and veteran Prez Khex.

The performances were preceded by devotion during which members of the Twelve Tribes and visitors read scriptures, sang hymns and reasoned about Rastafari and Pan Africanism.

The Twelve Tribes of Israel is a Rastafari organization that has been working in Ghana since 1986 and engages in various charity activities and clean up exercises in addition to the mission of Rastafari with their headquarters at Medie.

MCs for the night included James Reuben and Culture Levi.
