A key highlight of this year’s VGMAs, currently ongoing at the Accra International Conference Centre, is the inroads of young kings as Kwesi Arthur, King Promise, B4bonah, Patapaa, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Kurl Songx among others.

They finally got their turn on the all important stage, and treated patrons to the songs which were the core wave of 2017. King Promise, KiDi, and Kuami Eugene all rendered impressive live performances, as if to say, “we are here to stay”.

Compered by Berla Mundi and Jon Dumelo, VGMA 2018 is a Charterhouse Ghana production. It is sponsored by telecoms giant Vodafone. Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Shatta Wale, and late songstress, Ebony Reigns are all in the running for the coveted award of Artist of the Year.

Late dancehall musician Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng with stage name Ebony Reigns has been crowned Vodafone Ghana Music Awards artiste of the year 2018.

His manager, Bullet carried the song writer of the year with the song Maame Hw3.

Ealier, there were various lists circulating online that suggested that Dancehall act Shatta Wale will carry the artiste of the year but Attractive Mustapha sharing his opinion on 3FM asked music fans to ignore the list because it is not credible.
