Producers plotted my downfall because I refused to act naked – Agya Koo

Ghanaian actor, Agya Koo has disclosed that movie producers decided not to feature him in movies because he refused to act naked for a movie scene.

Agya Koo has, for some years now, been out of the movie scenes in Ghana.

But speaking at the launch of his much-popularised TV application, the legendary actor indicated that he was sabotaged by some producers because he refused to act naked in a scene in a movie he was supposed to be featured in.

He said “I have hidden this from the public for a very long time and I think that it is high time I make the public aware of this fact. Agya is not incapacitated neither is he weak but some producers sat and decided to bury my acting career”.

He further indicated that “I was acting in a movie titled Okomfo Anokye where I was supposed to act naked but in the history which we were following, while Okomfo Anokye was taking his bath there were no cameras so I asked that we improvise on something to avoid me showing my nakedness because people of the community were behind me but the director refused so I had to leave the movie and since then, they have worked in killing my career”.

Agya Koo who is one of the names that revived the movie industry in Ghana indicated that he has no co-equal in the movie industry stating that the current crop of actors can in no way compare themselves to him.
