Kpando (Volta Region), 30 Oct., A Kpando circuit court yesterday fined a 37-year-old driver, Sampson Atsuvia Amegashie, 100,000 cedis for locking out officials of the Kpando branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) because his vehicle was not loaded at the Ho lorry station. He pleaded guilty to a charge of action likely to breach the peace and was bonded to be of good behaviour for 12 months, or in default, 12 months' imprisonment. Police Chief Inspector E.R.K. Klu of Kpando Police Station told the court presided over by Mr. Robi Batu that the driver who plies between Kpando and Ho, returned from Ho on October 27, without passengers. Chief Inspector Klu said Amegashie rushed out of his vehicle and locked the door to the office of the GPRTU charging that the Ho branch of the GPRTU refused to load his vehicle because the Kpando branch had at one time also refused to load a Ho vehicle at Kpando.
