Popular icons of 2014 give December something to remember at #D2R2014

Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, DKB, M.anifest, Kontihene, Kalybos and Ahuofe Patri, Afia Schwarzenegger among other outstanding personalities for 2014 gave a rendition of what they are known for at Citi FM’s Decemba 2 Rememba Concert held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Christmas Eve.

Comfort and quality were assured and delivered as the white-attire-wearing audience were content with the not-too-crowded auditorium with enough room to flaunt their dance moves. The performers too were on point to arouse dances amidst cheers and applause.

The well-lit stage, Christmas trees, Santa Clause and gifts from sponsors at the venue gave a resounding feel of Christmas which appealed to the young audience as they expressed their opinions via tweets which were projected on the walls of the auditorium.

Keche took to the stage to give their synchronized craft another test and the audience responded positively. It took the presence of M.anifest to hit the rap lovers hard as they rapped along with him on lyrics of more than half-a-dozen of his songs.

DKB mixed up the aura with fresh-from-the-box jokes which were relevant and fascinating considering the depressing interest in Ghanaian comedy. He gained a rousing applause and commendation on Twitter from the audience. He minced no words at the end of his act when he called on the people to support Ghanaian comedy and comedians.

Kontihene took the crowd onto the memory lane with his trademark energetic performance as he sang his old hits including ‘Akatasia’ which received a rapturous response.

The ever controversial actress and presenter, Valentina Agyeiwaa better known as Afia Schwarzenegger gave a piece of herself with jokes which automatically qualifies her to be a part of DKB’s group of Ghanaian comedians. She couldn’t go without mentioning Prophet Obinim as the crowd kept calling for it and they were not disappointed.

She introduced Guru, who entered with a dance troop to perform an act. He went on and on from song to song which is a sign of hard work on his part as a musical artiste. Cartoon joined him at a point to perform a song he featured with him.

Comedy was again witnessed when Kalybos and Ahuofe Patri took up the stage with a skit which got the people laughing out loud. They introduced Stonebwoy who was the peak of excitement at the show.

He commanded the crowd and clinically delivered from song to song, coupled with dance attempts which he admitted he was not so good at. He was arguably the favourite of the night.

Shatta Wale brought the show to an end with his usual energetic performance and cheers from his die-hard fans who always troop to the stage when he is introduced to perform.

Asamoah Gyan, Van Vicker, Trigmatic, among other celebrities were among the audience who enjoyed the show.
