Police On The Heels Of Bob Okalla

Following the process initiated by the Nkoranza District Police Command to charge and subsequently arrest and subsequently arrest comedian Bob Okalla for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl, the Kpeshie Police in Accra are on the heels of the comedian.

According to DSP Charles Oduro, Kpeshie District Police Commander, they received a signal from the Brong Ahafo Region to the effect that they should assist in arresting Bishop Bob Okalla who is believed to be living around Teshie. However despite investigations in the area where he is said to be staying, he has still not been located.

DSP Oduro therefore has appealed to the general public for people who have information of the whereabouts of Okalla to inform the nearest police station for the necessary action to be taken. The Showbiz edition of January 15 reported that Okalla, who was on tour with a concert party group, raped the victim after allegedly luring her into his hotel.

After the act the victim was said to have been given an amount of ?20,000 by one of Okalla’s colleagues as “compensation.” Later, the incident was reported to the police through the “rescue” action of the Omanhene of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV. Contacted by Showbiz about the accusation, Bob Okalla denied having done any such thing. He admitted that he was in Nkoranza for a performance but said that the performance but said that the performance went well and he left Nkoranza the day after. The first time he heard the rape allegation, he said, was the next day when he was informed by his colleagues that some people were accusing him of having slept with a girl so they (his colleagues) had given them money to cool them down in the name of peace.

Okalla said he was not happy about the gesture of his colleagues and told them that he should have been contacted first before giving out any money since he was innocent. Okalla said that he is surprised at the turn out of events after almost three months. “God knows I am innocent,” he added.
