People of Ningo celebrate Homowo

Old Ningo (GA/R), Aug. 30, GNA - The Chiefs and people of Ningo Traditional Area gathered at their various clan homes to mark this year's Homowo Dzangle festival amidst drumming and dancing and sprinkling of traditional prepared dishes like Kor or Kpokpoi. The festival was to thank God and their ancestors for protecting them and ushering them into the New Year.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, Nene Atiapah Kanor III, Ningo Manklalo and Acting President of the Ningo Traditional Area, said such a festive occasion was time of reconciliation and families' reunion and planning for the New Year. Nene Kanor said the traditional council was planning to liaise with the Dangme West District Assembly to inaugurate a multi-million Health Centre at Lekprngunor.

Naana Nyuekie Kabu Opertotoo, Queen-mother of the area, petitioned Mr Michael Adjoweh, Dangme West District Chief Executive, to include Ningo women farmers to benefit from the Millennium Challenge Account, which the district was a beneficiary.
