Gospel musician Patience Nyarko has complained bitterly about how the ruling New Patriotic Party is using her song for campaign without any formal consultation and negotiation.

According to the Renowned Ghanaian Gospel artiste, the ruling party has publicly announced many times at various gatherings of its members that her popular song “Obi Nyanime” is their official campaign song as they move into the elections 2020.

Speaking in an interview with an Accra based radio station Onua 95.1 FM’s entertainment talk show Anigye Mmre with Christian Agyei Frimpong as monitored by Attractivemustapha.com, she said that even though her management team has made several efforts to reach the party, they are yet to receive any tangible responses from them.

She mentioned that they are ready to sue the party through GHAMRO – Ghana Music Rights Organisation. if the issue is not solved amicably her management team would have to sue the party for that act.

“I mean it’s not right , its a big offence for using someone’s intellectual property without the person’s knowledge and I believe that NPP is a big party which understands all these terminologies so I’m hoping for the right thing to be done “

When asked by Attractive Mustapha NII Okai Inusah who was a panel member on the show if she is pleased with NPP using her song for campaign, Patience Nyarko said it appears she has no option.

In a separate chat after the program, her management team said that they will sue the New patriotic party if they do not receive any positive response.
