Papaye organizes workers annual awards

Accra, May 8, GNA - The Papaye Fast Food honoured its deserving workers at the weekend for exhibiting loyalty and efficiency in their work in Accra.

Mr Divine Asiedu, Managing Director of the Company, said the awards ceremony illustrated the Management's appreciation of the efforts which workers had put in to make Papaye the market leader in the food industry.

He entreated the workers to aspire to the top of their career since one's success and promotion depended not only on the ability to perform well, but also from the relationships with their colleagues and superiors.

He pledged job security for the workers and improved working conditions and urged them to avoid backbiting, bickering, and unnecessary power struggle.

Mr Emmanuel Benimah, of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, said employers should put in place incentive packages to motivate employees to increase productivity.

"I will urge the Management of Papaye to give recognition and attention to the initiatives and innovations of employees", he said, adding that employers should see workers as working with them and not for them.

Awards were given to 32 workers, who had worked with the Company from five to 15 years.

They received refrigerators, television sets, cash prizes and certificates of honour. Awards were also given to the well dressed lady, neatest personality and best worker with the kitchen being crowned as the overall best section.
