Over 30 Artistes billed for All Star Unity Concert

Becca, Starr FM 103.5 FM (EIB Group), Ghana “Protect the Goal” campaign, MUSIGHA and several top leading Ghanaian artistes with support from the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have teamed up to stage the “All Stars Unity Concert” to benefit directly the victims of the 3rd June, 2015 flood and fire disasters in Accra, Ghana.

The event will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on the 30th of June, 2015 at 5.30pm. Tickets are 5ghc and 10ghc and are available at Starr FM, Accra Mall and the Accra Sports Stadium.

The “All Stars Unity Concert” is to raise funds for the victims of the national disasters and increase awareness on sanitation in our environments.

The All Stars Unity came about after international music artist, Becca visited the Circle disaster site and in consultation with Starr FM, the Ghana “Protect the Goal” campaign, Ministry of Youth & Sports, President of MUSIGHA and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

According to Becca, “The only thing we have as artistes is our voice, and this is the only way we can bring a change.”

The concert will see performances by some of Ghana;s finest musicians including Shatta Wale, Becca, R2Bees, Efya, Kwabena Kwabena, Trigmatic, Racquel, Ben Brako, Rex Omar, OJ, Micheal Oware, Edem,Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Nana Asaase, Stephanie Benson, Gena West, Akosua Agyepong, Joyce Blessing, Bisa Kdei, Ohemaa Mercy, Kwame Yeboah and the OBY band.

During the concert there will be information presented about fire and flood prevention including brief video interviews with the artistes, stakeholders and victims affected by the disasters.

The CEO of the EIB group of companies, Mr. Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) says they are excited as company and a radio station to lend their support in this direction as a youthful radio station,” it is in good light to see young, vibrant and energetic people come together for such a worthy cause.” He added.

The President of MUSIGHA, feels there is much excitement about the concert. “I am glad that government, that is the Ministry, AMA are so committed and enthusiastic about helping us reach out. Our voice will give us an opportunity to contribute meaningfully and let people know how they can also get involved.”

Mr. Girmay Haile, UNAIDS Country Director is happy the Ghana “Protect the Goal” campaign is part of such a project and pledged their support in using the right systems to make sure funds raised get to the victims and have a sustainable plan to coordinate these efforts in supporting them.
