Afro-jazz songstress, Elivava, The African Gold II of ‘I live 4ever’ fame although has been quite silent on the music scene appear not to be impressed about Obour’s administration, “he is trying but it seems everybody is using power to help themselves.

“I am not saying Obour is doing that however, there are people in his administration who are itches in the industry and need to change their ways. As it stands I have never received any royalty from GHAMRO, only foreign outfits pay me royalties, their names are my little secret,” Elivava affirmed.

According to her, this is not a way of gaining attention back onto the music scene but “the industry has become a one-way promotion of hip life and foreign music that one needs to grease the palms of music promoters to have your song heard. It doesn’t matter whether or not the impact it weighs on the public.”

She further indicated that the kind of music heard is quite out of order, “we are losing our culture and destroying our children with these kinds of music; the industry needs to be called to order.”

Meanwhile, The African Gold II who has been off the media and music scene notified that she has not been totally off but “it looks a bit rough when it comes to the side of female artistes and also the level of ‘imitation’ few years ago among other female colleagues was losing its relevance.”

“Although I have been quite, I still have been billed on events including African Dream Festival, Afro-Jazz Festival in Lome along with Ally Keita, and Dudu, a Zimbabwean artiste during the African Women’s Day and a number of collaborations on my on the go second album,” she noted.
