Omanpanin Says ?Don?t Go There?

One of the newest entrants onto the hiplife scene Omanpanin aka Nana Osei Asibey Gyasi says that the hiplife presidential seat which he believes is vacant.

According to Omanpanin ??The reason why I say the hiplife seat is vacant is that when you take a look at the Obrafours, Okomfos, Omanhenes and Akyeames, you will notice that they can all be found at the Chief?s palace and even the Oseikrom President is in charge of just the Garden City but the castle or seat of government itself is not occupied and that is what I have come to rectify with the name Omanpanin which means Hiplife President?.

Omanpanin is a product of the Asankare Youth Leadership Training Institute where he studied Building and Construction and completed in 1998.

He composed his first song when he was in junior secondary school and that was surprisingly a gospel song. According to Omanpanin ?even though I have a knack for writing gospel songs, I have always been interested in hiplife at least from when I could understand what it was all about?.

After he left the Training Institute, he decided to pursue music full time and after some hard times of searching for a producer, his debut album ?Don?t Go There? will be released under the Bambalala music label on the 20th of this album.

?Don?t Go There? is an album on which he features fellow hiplifers like K.K. Fosu, Screw face and Obinfo Jayhova. On why he chose such a title, Omanpanin said that he decided to use that as a caution. ?I just want to warn people to be careful because the album is too hot to touch so they should be careful when they are handling it?.

On ?Me Mfe Mpadee? which is easily the best song on the album featuring Obinfo Jayhova and whose video is receiving considerable airplay on television, Omanpanin talks about the fact that his companion is his rib ordained by God for him and that he intends to marry her and meet her every demand.

He then admonishes those who are talking about his undivided attention for the girl and says that they would have reacted the same way if they were in his shoes. Obinfo Jayhova who sounds a lot like Lord Kenya delivers a very good rap.

Laimomoh (ex-girlfriend or girlfriend) which features Asaase Aban and Mr. Comoo can be described as soft jama with the drums and guitar the most prominent instruments. The track done in both Ga and Twi has a very well done chorus and on it he tells his ex-girlfriend that she has missed out something very good they had together and that she will never get him back.

On ?Ye W?adwene Yie? which again features Obinfo Jayhova and who does another good rap, he pleads with a lady he trying to woo to make up her mind so that he can marry her and do all that she wants. He tells her that she is the only one he wants to spend the rest of his life with and that he will never give her cause to regret if she becomes his.

Other songs that can found on the album are ?Sweetie? featuring K.K. Fosu and Screw face and ?Ko No Saa Mame? featuring believer and King Attipo.
